We are a team of licensed, board certified, experienced, current and caring physical therapists. We practice the “small clinic” approach with low volume to allow more time for proper care. We believe that continuity of care by the same therapist at each session provides the best outcome.

After an extensive in-take examination, we lead you through a course of one-on-one physical therapy sessions under the direction of experiences physical therapists. Your sessions will be tailored to your specific needs, taking into account your strengths and limitations.

During your course of physical therapy,we will encourage you to continue your therapy after being discharged with a comprehensive home exercise program for your unique needs and situation.  Before your therapy ends, we will provide you with exercises to maintain your regained active lifestyle.

Orthopedic Physical Therapy: We will work to remedy your injury with alternative modalities to prevent surgery, and, if surgery is required, provide rehabilitative physical therapy pre- and post-surgery for hips,shoulders, knees, ankle/foot.   We will alleviate the influence of arthritic symptoms and injuries.

Sports Physical Therapy: We will help you realize your physical potential whether you’re a weekend golfer, a pro athlete or just want to be able to play catch with your grand kids again. We will help facilitate the bodies ability to heal you after an injury and guide you back to your best performances level.

Our physical therapists are board certified, highly trained and current with research-driven cutting edge technique in physical therapy practice Tom Willemann, senior physical therapist and director, has an MS in physical therapy,and is certified as an OCS , Orthopedic Clinical specialist.

He has observed orthopedic surgeons on medical tours and has specialized spinal therapy training by the renowned McKenzie Institute International. Tom became a physical therapist 15 years ago to combine his love of athletics and his caring interest in others.

You will be assisted with all financial and insurance matters by our insurance specialist. You won’t have to worry again about payments or insurance problems, because our experience with a vast array of insurance issues, and our service and communication skills are second to none.


Is a doctor’s prescription or referral required? What is direct access?

Direct access was signed into law in NJ in 2003, where patients may now be evaluated and treated by a licensed physical therapist, without a prescription or referral from another medical professional, saving time and money. Most importantly it has shown that there is no safety issues seeing a physical therapist according to a study done by Medicare and less expensive as compared to physician owned physical therapy facilities.

What should I expect during the first treatment session?

Our clinic is on the first floor with access directly from the parking lot. no steps: no long corridors.

Our manual therapy techniques are not painful. In assessing your range of motion we continually measure and record your pain thresholds and reflexes will be measured and analyzed.

A plan of treatment will be created which is unique to your situation and based upon your results from this hour and a half long observation and testing session. we will discuss with you our recommendations for treatment modalities,exercises and equipment we will be using, and the number of visits in the plan. We may recommend medical attention beyond the physical therapy.


Loose comfortable clothing is best.Pants or shorts are a must for certain types of injuries where you might be called upon to raise your leg or hip. For evaluations and treatments which might require privacy,APEX offers a smaller private treatment room. Comfortable shoes are recommended.


Your initial assessment will take almost an hour and a half. Your regular visits will last between 45 to 60 minutes.


You will be guided by a trained physical therapist through stretches and exercises during each treatment according to the current condition of your injury and your pain threshold. when you are deemed ready,you will be encouraged to continue exercising at home and provided with handouts with diagrams to help yo remember how to do the exercises correctly.


the plan for you may range from a few visits to a few months of 3 visits per week, dependent on the individual and his/her medical history, the diagnosis and severity of symptoms. Apex offers early morning and early evening appointments in addition to daily”office hours”.

Our insurance specialist Kathie Rudie is known for her detailed and informed communication with both insurance companies and patients. Kathie’s 15 years of experience dealing with a vast array of insurance issues will leave you with little to do but get better
